Exterior Car Detailing

Exterior Car Detailing in Kaufman County, TX

Clay-bar decontamination, paint cleanser, and hand sealant that beads water for months. The detail that makes your paint look 10 years younger.

An exterior detail goes three or four layers past what a wash can do. A wash removes loose dirt. An exterior detail removes bonded contamination — the iron fallout from brake dust, the road tar from highway driving, the tree sap from parking under hackberries and pecans, the bug acids from a weekend trip east to Cedar Creek, and the industrial fallout that builds up on paint between washes. Clay bar pulls it all off. Paint cleanser brightens the clear coat and knocks out light oxidation. Hand wax or polymer sealant locks in the finish with 3–6 months of beading, UV protection, and hydrophobic release.

In Kaufman County, the layered damage is relentless. Limestone dust from new-construction neighborhoods in Forney and Heartland bonds to paint within a week. Lawn sprinklers spray hard-water mineral deposits that etch into clear coat in a single summer. Red-clay dust off country roads embeds into wax and then rides along the paint every time the vehicle is wiped down. An exterior detail strips all of that, rebuilds a clean protective layer, and gives you a reset point — paint that behaves like paint again.

The exterior detail checklist

  • Wheel, tire, and barrel deep clean
  • Iron fallout decontamination
  • Bug and tar removal
  • Full-body clay-bar decontamination
  • Machine-applied paint cleanser
  • Hand wax or polymer sealant (3–6 month protection)
  • Trim and tire dressing
  • Exterior glass polish and sealant
  • Door jambs wiped and sealed
  • Chrome or polished metal buffed (where applicable)
  • Final walk-through before we leave

When to step up to paint correction

Full Exterior Detail cleans and protects. It does NOT remove deeper swirls, holograms, water-spot etching, or serious oxidation — those defects need machine compounding and polishing to physically level the clear coat. The Exterior + Paint Correction package at $299 adds a single-stage machine correction to the full exterior detail, which is the right move for vehicles that have been through years of drive-through washes, or for dark-color vehicles where swirls read as haze under direct sun.

If you want the corrected paint to stay that way for years, ceramic coating is the right add-on after paint correction. See ceramic coating for pricing and the installation process.

Pricing and packages

Three tiers in the cards above. Basic Exterior Wash at $75 for maintenance. Full Exterior Detail at $150 for the complete decontamination-and-protection package. Exterior + Paint Correction at $299 for vehicles that need actual defect removal, not just a wash.

The Process

HOW WE DELIVER EXTERIOR DETAILING

  1. 01

    Wheel and lower-panel prep

Wheels, tires, and wheel wells first — the dirtiest areas get the dedicated brushes and chemistry before any water touches the paint. Prevents cross-contamination during the body wash.

  2. 02

    Two-bucket hand wash and decontamination

pH-balanced shampoo applied via mitt with a two-bucket system (one wash, one rinse) to keep grit off the paint. Iron fallout removed chemically, then clay-bar pass on Full Exterior Detail and Paint Correction packages.

  3. 03

Paint cleanser (and correction if booked)

Machine-applied paint cleanser brightens clear coat and removes light oxidation on every Full Exterior Detail. Paint Correction package adds a single-stage cut-and-polish with paint thickness measured throughout.

  4. 04

    Seal and dress

Hand wax or polymer sealant locks in the finish with 3–6 months of beading and UV protection. Trim dressed with UV-safe product. Tire shine applied. Glass polished and sealed. Final walk-around before we leave.

Questions

EXTERIOR DETAILING FAQ

What is the difference between a car wash and a full exterior detail?

A car wash removes loose dirt. A full exterior detail removes bonded contamination (iron fallout, tree sap, bug acids, road tar), physically levels swirl marks and light oxidation, and adds a protective sealant or wax that beads water for months. A $10 drive-through wash cannot touch any of those things — and most swirl marks on Kaufman County paint are caused by automatic brush washes.

How long does a full exterior detail take?

Two to three hours for most sedans and SUVs. Larger vehicles — full-size trucks, Suburbans, lifted rigs — run closer to 3–4 hours. The timeline is driven by how much surface area we are working and how heavy the contamination is.

How often should I get an exterior detail in Texas?

Twice a year is the sweet spot for most Kaufman County vehicles — once in spring to clear winter grime and prep paint for UV season, once in fall to remove summer oxidation and add fresh protection. Vehicles stored outdoors, driven on dusty country roads, or parked under trees benefit from quarterly details.

Will a full exterior detail remove swirl marks and light scratches?

A Full Exterior Detail includes a machine-applied paint cleanser that removes very light swirls and brightens the finish. Deeper swirl marks, holograms, and oxidation need a dedicated paint correction service, which uses machine compounding and polishing to physically level the clear coat. We will tell you on-site which one the vehicle actually needs.

Do you offer recurring exterior wash and detail schedules?

Yes. Monthly maintenance washes and quarterly full details are our most popular recurring offers, and both come with a recurring-customer discount. Recurring schedules are the cleanest way to keep paint looking new without ever having to remember to book.
